We love to hear about all our patients’ accomplishments and how Dr. Emma has assisted them in the process. Our featured patient of the month of June is Mr. Tom LaMonica. He stared the diet about a year ago in July 2010. Tom did the diet twice, one 40 day and one 21 day program and now is on maintenance.
Tom ran his first marathon in January 2011in Florida. The marathon was The Disney Marathon and was 13.1 miles long. We are really excited and proud to say Tom finished the whole marathon in 2 hours and 55 minutes. Also, after speaking to him about his experience in the marathon, the story behind the marathon touches our heart.
“My plan wasn’t initially to run in the marathon. My brother and his wife were going to run it together, but then he got the news that he was getting shipped off to Afghanistan. This left my sister-in–law without a running partner. I decided to take my brothers place so my sister-in–law could still run. I trained for it, because I do the occasional running, but never ran a marathon before. If you told me a year ago I would never have believed that I would have been able to run a marathon. With the help of Dr. Emma and her HCG weight loss program I lost 60 lbs and have kept it off. Because of my weight loss I was able to train and run the marathon representing my brother”.
Mr. LaMonica is also running another marathon in Savannah, Georgia on November 5, 2011. He is raising money for the American Cancer Society - DetermiNation http://tinyurl.com/3pls2a8
